Resistance in Prayer — Part 2
“When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.”
Yesterday we anchored our hearts in the liberating truth that spiritual resistance is simply a celestial radar confirming our proximity to the target. When you close the door of the secret place and the atmosphere thickens, it means you have arrived at the gates of a well-guarded stronghold. Today, as we begin a new week of prophetic execution, the Holy Spirit brings us the legislative verdict required to dismantle that guard entirely: THE LAW OF THE STRONGER MAN.
In the realm of prophetic forensics, we must understand that structural limitations, generational patterns, and territorial blockages are not passive accidents. They are actively policed. Spiritual friction exists because a 'strong man' — a demonic entity, an ancient covenant, or a legal hold of darkness — is fully armed, guarding what he considers his rightful palace. If you approach a fully armed strong man with casual, half-hearted prayers or emotional begging, you will leave the closet exhausted and defeated. Darkness does not yield to sentiment; it yields to superior force. To reclaim your destiny, your family, or your territory, you must consciously introduce the reality of the Stronger Man into the courtroom of prayer.
The Dynamics of Superior Authority
The secret place is not an arena where you try to muster up human strength to fight the devil. It is the place where you step out of your own limitations and enforce the supremacy of Christ.
The Armor of the Stronger Man
The enemy relies on specific legal grounds to maintain his hold — fear, ancestral ignorance, unconfessed sin, or past compromises. These form his 'armor.'
The Disarming Process
When you enter forensic intercession, backed by the Blood of Jesus and the precise Word of God, you are not just making noise. You are stripping that strong man of his legal right to resist you. You are executing a higher constitutional authority that darkness has no legal capacity to reject.
Enforcing the Higher Law
How do we practically operate by this law when confronting deep-seated resistance?
1. Shift Your Identity from Victim to Enforcer
Stop praying from a posture of defeat, asking God to start defeating an enemy that Jesus has already crushed. Colossians 2:15 declares that He disarmed principalities and powers, making a public spectacle of them. You are not trying to win the war; you are enforcing a victory that has already been won at the Cross.
2. Locate and Seize the Armor
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal what the strong man is trusting in to keep your situation bound. Is it a legal loop in a contract? Is it an old pattern of thinking? Once the forensic light of the Spirit exposes the root, cancel it by the blood of Christ, effectively stripping the enemy of his defensive shield.
3. Command a Full Restitution
The Stronger Man does not just bind the enemy; He divides his spoils. When you break the back of a resisting power in the secret place, do not stop at a ceasefire. Command a restoration of everything that was stolen — your peace, your time, your financial equity, and your spiritual clarity. You are not weak. The Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives inside you, making you legally and positionally stronger than any entity tracking your bloodline or resisting your assignments.
Abba Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, Most High God, the ultimate Authority and the Stronger Man over every force of darkness, I take my seat in Christ Jesus today. I refuse to be intimidated by the armor or the threats of the adversary. By the power of the Holy Ghost, I enforce the victory of Calvary over every stubborn stronghold resisting my progress, my family, and my assignments. I strip the enemy of his legal holds, I bind his influence, and I command a full release of my divine spoils, by the power of the Holy Ghost, Amen!
